Details: Scripting a comic requires, first of all, a good story. The workshop will begin by telling you how to write a story. Children will then be introduced to the various elements that are necessary to write a good comic story. By the end of the workshop, your child will be able to write a story and also adapt it for a comic format. Scripting and illustrating a comic story is a wonderful way for children to express themselves.

Requirements:

While this course is open to any child over 9 years, we do ask that parents assess their children before enrolling them. A love for reading will help your child make the most of this course. The child should be able to draw at least stick figures, since they will also be illustrating their story

About the Tutor:

Nandini Nayar is the award-winning author of 58 books for children of all ages. She is India’s most prolific children’s writer, with books published by well-known Indian publishers like Tulika, Karadi, Amar Chitra Katha, Scholastic, Puffin, HarperCollins, Juggernaut, Pratham, Eklavya, Talking Cub and Mango. Her international publishers include Oxford University Press, Pakistan, Frances Lincoln, and Tricycle Press. In addition, Nandini has been a regular contributor to iconic children’s magazines like Tinkle, Hoot, Toot, Dimdima and The Children’s Magazine and newspapers like The Hindu and Sakal Times.

Nandini is a trained teacher and has worked on English language textbooks at both the school and university levels. She also facilitates creative writing workshops for children and adults.
